For those looking for video of the FSOSS sessions: we're working on loading and editing the tapes as quickly as possible -- but there's 126 of them, so it's going to take a while!

I'm almost certain it's already come up, but this would be a great case where using a solid-state method of recording (e.g., Flash-based).
Assuming you were using DV camcorders, you could also pipe the video straight to PCs/laptops, but the storage requirements would not be trivial.
This is a problem I've considered for a while because I have done the same, but with audio instead of video. There I had the advantage of all the audio landing on SD media which was trivial to copy from at faster than realtime.
I should add that "Someone" was the Seneca School of Communication Arts -- who also provided the students to operate the cameras. This was a tremendous help to the event.
