Fedora Linux is now available as a PDF download from the O'Reilly store. It's great to see this project come to fruition -- but I still look forward to seeing the print edition next week!

Can you give an authoritative answer for mounting/unmounting usb drive (already formatted as vfat) in FC6? also, how about an external usb hard drive already formatted as NTFS? What should be added in /etc/fstab? A step-by-step instruction is preferable. Thanks!

Well, my blog isn't really a Fedora support forum! I'd direct you to http://fedoraproject.org/wiki

But here are some quick comments:

- USB mounting of VFAT USB drives is most easily handled using the Gnome and KDE autodetection features.

- USB mounting and unmounting in Gnome can also be initiated over DBUS by gnome-mount.

- If you're not using the GUI, a regular mount from the command line will work fine (e.g., 'mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/myusbdrive').

- NTFS is not currently supported by Fedora Core due to patent issues. This is apparently under review within the Fedora project.

(In the book, USB storage is covered in section 8.2).
